Group Services Terms
Our group services fee is separate from the premium you pay the carrier, and separate from any commission the carrier pays us.
This page summarises the terms under which Bindly Health serves an employer group as its benefits broker. The terms an employer accepts are in the document we send for signature, and they govern.
The rates that apply to a group are in that group's proposal and in the agreement it signs, not on this page.
1. What the fee pays for
The group services fee pays for the work we do for your group, including:
- Collecting your employee census and asking the carriers and general agents we work with to quote your group.
- Preparing a proposal that compares plan options, and answering your questions about it.
- Preparing and submitting the application for the plan you choose, and following it with the carrier until the carrier decides.
- Serving as your broker of record with the carrier: enrollment, adding and removing employees, and billing and eligibility questions.
- Sending your employees their member ID cards and plan documents when the carrier issues them, and helping them with coverage questions.
- Reviewing your renewal each year and quoting other options when that helps your group.
You can reach us about any of this at groups@bindlyhealth.com.
2. How the fee works
The group services fee is a monthly service fee, charged for each employee enrolled in your group plan for that month.
The rate per enrolled employee depends on the size of the group, and a smaller group pays a higher rate. Your group's rate is in your proposal and in the agreement you sign.
For a group at or above the size set out in the agreement, the fee is waived for any month in which the carrier commission paid to us for your group reaches the level the agreement states. We may also waive or reduce the fee for your group at any time.
A month in which no fee is due, because it is waived or no employees are enrolled, produces no invoice.
3. Separate from your premium and our commission
The fee is separate from the premium you pay the carrier, and separate from the commission the carrier pays us. It does not change your premium, and the carrier does not bill or collect it.
4. How we bill
We bill monthly in arrears: after a month ends, we invoice the fee for that month.
The count is the number of employees enrolled in your group plan for that month, as shown on the carrier's bill for that month. Employees whose coverage has ended are not counted.
We email the invoice to your contact on file with a secure link to pay online, and the due date is on the invoice. If a count looks wrong, reply to the invoice email and we will check it against the carrier's bill and correct the invoice.
5. When the fee starts and ends
The fee starts with the first month in which your group's coverage is in effect with Bindly Health as your broker, and continues each month while we serve your group. It ends after the month in which the agreement ends.
6. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time by emailing groups@bindlyhealth.com or by replying to any invoice email. The fee ends after the month in which we receive your cancellation, and that month is billed as usual. Canceling does not cancel your coverage with the carrier.
7. Changes
We will not raise the fee or change the waiver without your written agreement. If we update these terms, we send you the new version to sign, and until you sign it the terms you signed continue to apply.
